On the rails again… #Interrail #CrossBorderRail Today @wendy@mendeddrum.org and I are on the well-trodden (sat?) path to home in Barcelona from Karlsruhe. Today’s itinerary: https://moof.space/trips/2026-07-22 I have taken this trip a number of times now, and it’s always bittersweet. Especially the days I leave @darkphoenix@not.an.evilcyberhacker.net behind and continue on my own. That being said, once I’ve made my 17 minute change in Strasbourg, it’s smooth sailing. A trip to Lyon, time for lunch, and then the long, comfortable ride in the AVE direct to Barcelona. This has become if not a second home, at least a gentle way to tell my brain that I can switch off travel mode and get ready for being home again. I am always a bit nervous for this Strasbourg change, as a 10 minute delay for this train makes the change of platform very complicated. I was watching the ICE from Stuttgart, that supposedly leaves half an hour before this one, in case it was the better option, but it’s currently at +61. So I picked the right train. Allons-y!
