Once again looking for, but unable to find, any evidence that there was an episode of Sooty in which Sweep joined the fash (possibly he became a police dog? Or joined the army? In any case he marched around the house singing a marching song). I know it existed, because both my sister and I remember it, well because Nan had a VHS recording and we saw it a lot. We both still hum the time, and it comes up every time a baby does that arm straight out thing they do in their sleep. We might not have understood the context, perhaps Sweep didn't become a dictator, but that's what I vaguely remember. #sooty #nostalgia #KidsTV
