Sometimes it can be instructive to strip away the central gimmick of a typeface to reveal the system beneath it.
This is what I did this month with GIGAWARP, a font that abandons the slicing and dicing routine of last month’s Megawarp and replaces it with a system of continuous wormlike forms.
My favorite part is the Unicase variant, which follows in the footsteps of the 1971 typeface Corporate Image. I love how it manages to feel both ancient and futuristic at once.

Here’s what the conventional caps and lowercase look like for GIGAWARP. They’re bold, they’re wide, they’re modular, and in my opinion, they’re still pretty dang fun. I maxed out the 20 allotted OpenType Stylistic Sets, including: — Sharpened forms (“Emerge” vs “Dreams”) — i dot heights (“Sketptic” vs “Wisdom” vs “Vigilant”) — M, N et al with diagonal leg (“ENCODE” vs “CAVERN”) — Upright R (“VERSUS” vs “ERASER”) — Megaflicks-safe L (“STIMULI”, thanks @melvian@dragonchat.org !) And a whole bunch more...
