@sunguramy@flipping.rocks I want to emphasize here, that the reason why we can diagnose 2/3rds of the cancers worldwide is because some researcher in astrophysics got a grant to figure what unreachable gas clouds were made of. No one can know what results will be useful. Some obscure mathematics thesis may solve all of our energy problems and the undergrad that published it may never even know. And it would not even be the first time.
