There's a lot of reasons why 1 Corinthians 13 really shines (even for us non-believers). If you can fudge your ways over the iffy bits and context, it's not a bad message. It's also mostly a beautiful message.
Reading the MLV of it, I have a better idea what it's doing. I don't think anyone would get that tattooed either but I suspect it does make the construction of the underlying text (the Koine Greek) more clear. It's not intended to sound / read good.
It's a tool for those who don't read Koine Greek (which includes me), not something you'd casually quote in a conversation.
So, I think it has its uses even if it's not going to work for me.

I crossed 60K the other day. Ended up doing a little technical work to get my combining script working on my mac. Getting that fixed revealed an issue with an adjustment I did earlier. I think one of my edit notes is going to involve refactoring chapters again. I'm at 62 chapters. That's going to be a real pain in the ass when I get to it.
