@vxo@digipres.club I've seen several MBP's that did that. Always caused "there's a red light shining out of the headser jack!" Stickets.

@apzpins@some.apz.fi yeah! I think it's got a mechanical switch but then tries to identify the device inserted by electrical resistance (?). Generally the little high speed heliograph would get stuck on due to dirt or foreign objects in the jack that kept the switch contact from closing. (This making the assumption that it's the typical sort of contact where it's normally closed when no plug is inserted.)
