@groink@techhub.social On wife's van the hitch went to hell, but at least the bolts going into frame stayed sealed enough I could get the whole thing off with a minimal of knuckle damage. Maybe if I can reverse engineer what the toyota guy's did the whole thing can be dropped out and replaced. This is when I want a car lift. @idropyou@beige.party

I can tell you from experience and looks of your rust... even if you get that bolt out sliding the rack bar out might be difficult too. Tried helping a buddy with similar situation. We got the pin out but gave up try to get the hitch to slide out. I still had some ideas (it wasn't at my place) but he decided to leave it as is... Try finding a 6-point impact socket 1/2 inch drive. They're usually 6-point anyway.
