It's interesting though. Out of everyone I still know from college who is religious.... They are all either ex friends, dead, or not religious anymore. My buddhist friends are atheists. My christian friends are atheists. Some of both still attend religious services. Some do not. Everyone past a certain age, it seems, has this same fear I do, and tries not to think about it. There were a few exceptions, a few atheists completely unafraid of death. (mostly online and not college in person friends.) But everyone seems to agree we have to make our own meaning out of this one life. It's so precious, and by the time you realize how fragile, how precious it is...well, I thought I knew when I was young, but I had the advantage of seemingly limitless, infinite time, then. Everyone faces the darkness and the world moves on.
