Yes, I suppose true that they are a kind of figurehead for the department, but personally, I’d rather have someone who had experience of the department they’re running - to me that makes sense.
Totally agree that seeing people switch from one role to another is silly, though!

@saxifraga@lgbtqia.space Some people are obviously missuited too, like Amber Rudd in the Home Office, Wes Streeting in Defence, and Nadine Dorries in, well, anything.
