@transcendentempress@eldritch.cafe Well, it developed that this is misinformation. The GBA BIOS i acquired two decades ago is actually the prototype BIOS, which actually sounds different. And it's the one i've been using ever since, blissfully unaware of it's existence and occasionally wondering why haven't any emulator ever fixed the sound thing. Once you get a release BIOS, the emulators do sound almost indistinguishable from the real thing. Sorry, and thank you for prompting me to finally look into it.
