To add insult to injury, the other end of the cable was Lightning and is the only way to connect the iPhone to the car in order to use Maps. And of course the crappy Lighting cable and iPhone are old enough that if you look at it more than once per minute it randomly disconnects because... Lighting... terrible connector is terrible. Fumbling around in the dark in the car at 4 AM to drive my son to the airport in the city... Not at my best and very low tolerance levels. Minor dramas. I need a nap. Ha.
