As I have written many times, it has long been quite obvious that #Trump and #MAGA are genuinely fascinated by #Putin’s ‘decisiveness’. The main problem is that Putin very deliberately makes strategic mistakes, simply because he can. The second problem – for Trump – is that Putin spent 20 years building his system, dismantling the courts, the free media, parliamentary democracy and the federal structure of the Russian Federation – whereas Trump would like to achieve all this in just a few years, in a completely different society.
