A group of carpenters now carries out the 'hoko-tate' (鉾建て) and 'yama-tate' (山建て).
As soon as the floats return from parading in the 'Saki Matsuri' they are hurriedly dismantled for another year. As their original purpose was to cleanse the city, speed was important to 'contain' impurities.

A few days after the first parade, construction begins on the floats that will participate in the 'Ato Matsuri' (後祭 - July 24th)😅 This second round of float building is completed by July 21st. Once again the larger hoko floats are pulled a short distance to make sure they are ready for the parade.
