@prism@infosec.exchange @emassey0135@caneandable.social I am super glad this discussion has come up but when it comes down to it, who but us nerds is going to even care about this stuff? I'd say 99%, ok maybe a bit less, will care about sideloading, etc and just use these machines for what they were designed for. I'd love to put some games on the orbit player but again, most users probably won't.

@jpellis2008@dragonscave.space @emassey0135@caneandable.social I persinally find it unconscionable that vendors for the blind often sell insecure devices to people without educating them as to the consequences of their design choices. But it is a distressingly common pattern.
