SO BEGINS the long chain of posts I was making over on another site chronicling the progress of the work to repair the broken LADWP trunk line that runs underneath a particular stretch of Sunset Boulevard. It all began quietly enough in the wee hours of July 16… until the fire alarm started blasting from the vacant office building scross rhe street that was once the headquarters of Carolco films. And Ticketmaster. And IAC Brands. And then Tinder.

Around 8:30a the flooding stopped and the road buckled with the formation of the #WeHole. Within moments, a floater of DWP workers had set up a command center and brought in truck upon truck of equipment. An army of men started pumping the WeHole. And it went on for quite some time.
