@lmgenealogy@mstdn.ca I was more thinking in terms of sport-as-a-culture and sport-as-entertainment.
Imagine a music festival that gets interrupted so that some unrelated parties can play a demo-game. That would just be as strange and awkward to my sensibilities as interrupting a sport match.
Mind you that this might be my bias talking.

@DevWouter@mastodon.social No, I think it's the same thing. Every subculture (if you want to call it that) has its own social norms and expectations, and it's affronting when those are disregarded by anyone, for whatever reason, even if the person doing it doesn't mean any harm.
