There's a gear on the back that powers such things as tillers and stuff. It's called a power takeoff. He once got too close and it seized upon his pants. Fortunately, his pants ripped, but that power takeoff not only took off his pants, but his genatalia as well. He survived, but they never did fix his plumbing. Ouchies!
