As I never had any og #GBA console, I don't know if the audio quality roughness comes from #emulation on modern hardware making the sound too clear or if it was already an actual thing.

@transcendentempress@eldritch.cafe Hm, it does sound off a bit in a way i struggle to describe. Like the speaker/amp on the real thing adds some distortion to the ideal waveform the emulators are making.

@transcendentempress@eldritch.cafe the built in speaker on my GBA-SP is a little tinny (not surprisingly) but it always sounded great through earphones to me.
