@ccferrie@mastodon.ie @yrrsinn@chaos.social which is true of everything including cars. We decided we didn’t want enough cops and we decided we would all just ignore the rules in their absence.

@Colman@mastodon.ie @yrrsinn@chaos.social All I'm asking for is some coherence in our approach to road safety. This government is busy doing stuff that won't make a blind bit of difference and studiously ignoring the stuff that would make a difference. I gave evidence at an Oireachtas Justice Committee meeting four years ago on the issue of enforcement, alongside the Gardaí, Dublin Bus and others. The Committee made a whole series of recommendations for actions to improve road safety which have been completely ignored.
