Thought I'd change the cassette on my bike. Found that my hub just fell apart.
Just so happens that yet again standards have changed and I either buy a new wheelset at a huge price or a new frame just to fit 'new and improved' through axles.
I will be doing neither of those things and asking the locals who will definitely have an old set kicking about.
This is the cycling chapter of enshitification

@g7kse@mastodon.radio how many cogs on your cassette? I buy cheap carbon tube/aluminum lug bikes from the early '90s for under $100USD for the parts. No one is going to miss a Trek 2300 or a Specialized Allez Epic.
