@USelaine@mastodon.online if the Vatican were here there'd be SO many Catholic child-abuse victims unhappy about the Holy See advertising on the fediverse so yeah, if such a thing were to occur it might be wise for them to CW their shit. but a hyperpolitical entity shouldn't be here in the first place.

@USelaine@mastodon.online I find myself thinking also: I have a habit of forgetting to CW things, perhaps telling myself that what I have to write ought to be more immediately visible, but if anyone told me "CW that fucker" I simply would do it without complaining. Does Matt Blaze actually think he's being original when it comes to whingeing about being asked to CW stuff? He could always simply NOT DO IT and ignore the requests. But there's been a parade of self-important people who react to advice about CWs as if they'd been censored or as if the talk of CWs betrays some fundamental failing of the fediverse. Matt merely joins that parade. if he wants to slink off to the techlords' walled garden, let him.
