If the drive motor state changes, we can invalidate our cached step and recalculate a new one.
I guess this is fine until some demoscene production bit-bangs the floppy motor line and murders my framerate

We can also model the time taken to seek the read head from track to track. The main immediate payoff for doing all of this is that i'll finally be able to plug in the floppy drive sounds i recorded.
