The really stupid part about this is this giant oil tanker which is now on fire, full of oil, had previously gotten out in early July after being stranded in the gulf and the ownership appears to have decided to send it in for more oil during the MOU. Looks like it got hit at around 7:30 last night while 8nm off Oman. The timing suggests to me that it was trying to use proximity to sunset to try and hug the Oman side and run with AIS off.
