Why does my scanner do this when I try and scan transparencies/film.
It's super frustrating and I don't know what triggers it.
I use
Image Capture
Epson Scan Utility
VueScan (rarely)
I also try removing and reinstalling the scanner via the print utility (feels like sometimes that has fixed it in the past).
Flatbed seems to be fine.

Ok it seems like I had the film tray in the wrong way around and it was covering a sensor hence the blown out, overexposed preview scan. I need to try and remember this for next time.
