@inlaing@mastodon.social @stephen@ephemera.vital.org.nz No argument with any of the links to slop critique posted already, but two other simpler aspects here: NZ has a long emergency in governance, because it now requires technical knowledge that approximately no one has, and even simpler, most otherwise intelligent and reasonable people wouldn’t recognise a good web site implementation if it stabbed them with a fork. They can’t even define “good”, much less measure it, but the ubiquity of thr technology encourages them to claim confident expertise anyway.

@rmi@cloudisland.nz @stephen@ephemera.vital.org.nz absolutely. I felt like I was talking over a gulf of understanding and I would rate myself as only tech competent adjacent, which, evidently, in board culture, is more than the others have.
