@littlealex@infosec.exchange still applies. The UK is high regulation, high tax and very low opportunity. Yes it is easy to start a business here, but the government tone and policy is anti-business and anti-ambition. Socialism is ascendant politically. If you want to move for opportunity you probably won’t find it here. Certainly not outside of London.

@theolodian@mastodon.social I have no problems with rules and regulation in general. It is more the Germanic mindset to find reasons not to allow something instead of making it possible within the regulations. I follow UK-politics a little because I used to live in London for some time and still have a bond to the country and people. I also see the problem with this socialist mindset. Again, no problem with a social mindset, people who need it have to be supported by society and it is ok to use taxes for it. My main problem with socialist thinking are those people love to spend other peoples money and instead of finding ways to reduce the spending, they increase the income side or stealing if you want to call it that. As long as this is possible socialism works, the moment the spending can't be meet the whole system collapses as history has shown.
