@felipe@social.treehouse.systems depends on the target IMHO. servers are mostly OpenBSD. A couple of FreeBSD to counterbalance dislike from FreeBSD laptop journey. Both are trustable. OmniOS and NetBSD also follow this path but have limitations mostly due to pkgsrc.OpenBSD laptop just work. Although it has its limitations. But what is supposed to work does work.FreeBSD laptop are always annoying pretty quick - because "laptop" things that should work don’t always; mostly audio and suspend/resume here.

@felipe@social.treehouse.systems haven't used Linux since the 90s. Mostly used anything but Linux or Windows since the early 90s. Was a Windows advocate for a short while in my early teens, but hey... who doesn't make mistakes at that age, eh? ;)

  • @felipe@social.treehouse.systems Bought a Mini PC hoping to set it up as a (portable) dedicated ArcaOS machine, still waiting for delivery. I'm kind of getting the hang of Presentation Manager programming, and are just taking the first few steps into SOM Workplace Shell integration. I've got a few more toy projects planned for this year to build the building blocks for stuff I want to do later, and then hopefully next year I can move more actual workflows to the OS/2 desktop. 🤞 I am SO tired of application centric desktops getting in my way all the time.
