I really fucking hate it when I tell people I can sing a bit and they immediately demand I sing for them. Just cuz I can sing doesn't mean I want to perform on demand. I'm not a dog doing tricks. I'm also not warmed up or prepared to perform.
I don't actually like performing! I'm not required to enjoy performing or do so on demand just cuz I could! Leave me alone!
Also I'm an asthmatic trapped inside by the horrendous air quality! I'm not going to be at my best cuz I literally can't breathe!

Also, something I haven't actually talked about with anyone is how both COVID and my thyroid surgery have changed my voice. Weakening my vocal muscles, pulling the top of my range down out of soprano 2 to alto 1 and yanking up the lower range. I am still learning my new range and trying to strengthen my lungs and vocal cords without professional assistance and trying to avoid further harming my voice. But I shouldn't have to tell anyone my private business to not get trotted out like a pony!
