Also, something I haven't actually talked about with anyone is how both COVID and my thyroid surgery have changed my voice. Weakening my vocal muscles, pulling the top of my range down out of soprano 2 to alto 1 and yanking up the lower range. I am still learning my new range and trying to strengthen my lungs and vocal cords without professional assistance and trying to avoid further harming my voice.
But I shouldn't have to tell anyone my private business to not get trotted out like a pony!

That's really the part that drives me up a wall, cuz of course I can't just refuse to perform on demand. No, whenever anyone claims they have a performing arts skill there's always someone that demands it be displayed at their request and any refusals are inevitably met with mockery. Obviously if I don't perform tricks on demand then that means I can't do it right? That's the only explanation, right? I either perform or be taunted, insulted, bullied, mocked, dismissed. Like fuck all the way off
