#monsterdon late late wrapup post. Thanks as always to @Taweret@timeloop.cafe for hosting the monster-movie watchalong as well as @JoeWynne@mstdn.plus for the awesome cocktail recommendation and trivia.@cherizilla@retro.pizza for the trivia and everyone involved for making it the best watchalong party on the internets. Our experiment this week was the venerable "Solarbabies" followed by Waterworld: 240* (million) dollas worth of Spam, aww yeah. We saw: - Expy any William Shatner character in pitch perfect fash pleather gear (baby blue) - "I've Got a Flying Machine!" - A made up group of very white indigenous people and that was somehow still handled better than Whitley Strieber managed to do last week. - Dances with Eels. - I think Solarbabies was actually influential wrt music videos... - SMEAT - JKR ripped off this futuresport for quidditch. - Namor McCostner is kind of a dick.
