I understood that point, but think it's missing an aspect:
when an infrastructure is provieded it will be used in most cases:
Provide highways: they will be full
Provide pipelines: they will be used
It funnels money away from other solutions while needing budget beyond creation for maintenance. Channeling education and knowhow in the wrong direction is another aspect.

@DavidBruchmann@mastodon.world @EllenInEdmonton@yeg.bike @uxMark@cosocial.ca I too wish there were the grants and encouragement for BEV's and renewables, particularly solar. These however depend on an economy that can afford them. And yes the new production based on the pipeline will be used again these will only meet demand they don't create it. So, I don't feel especially guilty with that portion coming from Canada.
