Some musings on AI:
I'm not a professional SE. I code in the service of solving specific scientific problems or other problems I personally have. But when I fix a bug, or overcome a limitation, all on my own....that feeling is unmatched. Why would I ever use a tool that takes away that sense of accomplishment? I don't want AI to solve my problems. I want to overcome challenges on my own, to build competence on my own, to discover on my own. AI just cheapens things.

@drliss@toot.lgbt I am a professional SE. There are definitely times where I don't need any satisfaction when a particular problem reaches the level of just being a pain in my ass. But those are very likely to be things an LLM wouldn't be able to help me with anyway.
