He was always blunt and undiplomatic, but people accepted that when his strong opinions were plausible-but-debatable ideas about software development.
Then it turned out he just likes being contrary, which of course makes you an easy mark for fascist ideas. Only I am bold enough to say what the liberal elite doesn't want people to hear, sort of thing.
Always look out for people who care more about being provocative than accurate. Whenever they say something people find insightful, they'll be unsatisfied and move on to something stupider.

@isaacfreeman@cloudisland.nz @keoni@mastodon.nz Good observation. It's wise to stay alert around those who stand against things more than they stand for something. Having an anchor in shared principles matters for trust. It's easy to assume that people who are pushing in the same direction are doing so for the same reasons, and have the same destination in mind. That is not always the case.
