Around 1900 NYC had a population of 4-5 million and about 200k horses

In 2020, NYC has a population of almost 9 million and 2 million cars
We replaced each single horse with 5 cars in the part of the country with the lowest rate of car ownership, the numbers are probably higher everywhere else. There is absolutely no way that's just replacing horses.
