Moral?
Don’t hide your ‘best price’ behind railcards. Show it up front!
For example, I’d abolish the Family Railcard and simply make accompanied kids free for everyone (as Germans & Austrians do).

Think how the budget airlines do it. They show their best price FIRST. Then add to it with extras. Railways do it the wrong way round. They show their most expensive price first, & expect you to whittle it down with research into railcards & hidden deals. If you don’t give up and drive at stage 1!
