...old Xcodes did indeed bridge major OS releases, as I described, and that Xcode 26 breaks that pattern.
So great, I appreciate that my position and the need for the question has been confirmed, but there was literally nothing helpful in that response.
"Here's a document." is mealy-mouthed and unhelpful.
I would have accepted:
You're right, and the only way to resolve this is if you have access to another computer.
Or: A fix is coming next week.
Or: I'll see what I can do.
Or even:

Or even: I'm not sure I understand. Can you clarify what you're trying to do? But "here's a document" solves nothing. Wasted time and energy. Sigh. OK, end rant. I guess I should make this a useful thread: If you run a support team or are on a support team, please set your standards for customer interactions higher than this. If "read this" is all you can do, you may as well not do anything. #Apple #iOSdev #Support #fail #Xcode #macOS #beta

@bennomatic@appdot.net I’m pretty sure I asked that same question here a while back (my posts autodelete) and I was told it was pretty normal for release Xcode to not run on beta OS. 🤔
