His "experimental" fiction is a little hit-or-miss for me, but his historical fiction is A+++.

It's rather amusing how homophobic elitist fancy boys like Buckley (or Tucker Carlson etc) so often have a clear fem streak lol. Not to mention how camp and performatively masculine characters like Trump are. Or how homoerotic male-exclusive settings frequently become it's so funny. Sad for society but funny to watch
