@oracle@piaille.fr Define "ponctuality" and "big deal" I accept 15 minutes after schedule as not a big deal. Yes! I am german where "Pünktlich" is 5 minutes before schedule. And then there is DeutscheBahn... 🙈 For me it also depends on context. In a business situation not being punctual tells me that you are not valuing the other peoples time which is rude.

@heiglandreas@phpc.social @oracle@piaille.fr I tend to take it just as seriously with non-business events as well. A friend who is on time to our planned events (in my opinion) cares enough about me to respect my time and agreements we make to do things. The friend who is habitually late?... well, from my experience they're usually quite narcissistic and I'm better off without them as a friend.

@heiglandreas@phpc.social @oracle@piaille.fr I can’t really answer because I was born in the USA but raised by old-school German parents (Dad born in 1920, mom in 1933). She to some extent got over being "Pünktlich" but he never did, and I follow in his footsteps. Like him, “on time” means five minutes early.
