Although DHH does not officially run RoR these days according to https://rubyonrails.org/foundation , I do not see any indication that the RoR community has distanced itself from DHH. Instead, they keep inviting him as a keynote speaker: https://rubyonrails.org/world/2026/speakers/dhh

He's the BDFL of Rails, and he's defended being a BDFL.
