From Thurso to Grenville, it was on the 148. Back there there was no "50" road that pretends to be a highway, so more traffic on it, but it had solid paved shoulder all the way. Last pic is the CP rail bridge across the Rivière Rouge. Single track (now owned by Genessee Wyoming/Québec/Gatineau railway.

From Grenville to Carillon, one of my favourite roads, the 344, though it had gotten busier over the years. Last picture was the Old Stone Store, at the time the longer operating store in Canada. Was operated by some aunt/grand mother type that had great ice cream, home made cakes etc from the community. Wooden floors crackling, and she had old style mechanical cash regiter with the crank. It closed and building purchased by yuppies from Montréal who used it as a home.
