And another big milestone for me, taking the Oka ferry across Lac des Deux Montagnes (technically Ottawa River).
This was still the small wooden tug pulling a barge with a rope, and the expert dad (and later his son) able to accelerate, theh move tug out of the way so barge would get to dock on inertia with tug now on its side to do the final adjustements. Business was sold and the new guys didn't have that touch and added engines around the barges to turn them into ferries.

The 5km between Dorion and Ste-Anne de Bellevue were best bikes on highway 20 without any shoulders ! And yes, part of dauly training ride,s so was use dto it. They have since added paved shoulders, but purposefully spread gravel to keep cyclists away, so mucy make detours via side streets. Picture 2 is the Pot Glaipeau (the origina cable stayed one(. I regret not taking pictire just before where there is a motel with sign "last motel before Montréal".
