@RyeNCode@mstdn.ca Oof, yeah, good luck getting any support from Google.
That's basically my fear about self-hosted mail, or even using a smaller host. I'm currently on Google Workspace and I definitely want to get off that, but I may try to find something that's still relatively big/popular for peace-of-mind. As a first step, anyway. 🙂

@apparition@mastodon.world in Canada I use HostPapa currently (though I want to find something else based on the reports that they are known hosts of a lot of spam/scam pushers) and I explicitly asked for and got transferred to Canadian hosting systems. I welcome other suggestions 👀 Out west here, it's a crapshoot putting in with anyone local. The risk of "western sovereignty", even the threat of it, is enough to make most businesses reconsider maintaining operations here. Expect those that embrace the grift, and those are to be avoided for that reason.
