@apparition@mastodon.world I've not completed my de-google-ing and other such activities but here are my components thus far... (Caveat I'm a technically savvy raccoon who under values their time, over values the ability to self host and cut operational requirements from external services) SyncThing: like others I ended up having a "central" node. I DO use this for backup in a limited capacity for some family members' specific cases. (E.g.: Minecraft saves for the kids to protect against catastrophic HW failure. No save-scum.)Immich: fully off google photos for me. I need to shore up the technical side to make it palatable for the partner yet.KeyCloak: OI auth provider for when we grow out of local LDAP. Better than using different creds on each service you self host. Possible to make use of existing auth providers like MS and Google if you need to.NextCloud: Started using it to trial a recommendation regarding a SharePoint type tool, just kept using it. Central hub for my contracting./1

@apparition@mastodon.world ... continued... Services I don't self host yet: mail: handled by my web host so I have my domains and lots of control through the management interface. Integrated into NextCloud.Web Hosting: Primarily sites are static and hosted offsite. Services and pre-prod are hosted. Raccoon Computing means the edge router needs a scheduled reboot and gets a new IP every week, then HomeAssistant automation gets triggered that politely asks the DNS provider to use the new IP for the home domain. I do host my own forgejo in place of github... because I have poor self-esteem regarding my work. I use ansible to deeply and update the services. I host on Raccoon'd hardware running Proxmox nodes running Alpine running docker. Its turtles all the way down. But it works. /end
