at some point in the past I did a #rimworld quest where I got an anti-material rifle as the quest reward.
Now, normally, in the world of the dead man's switch, where I can be operating a fucking minigun, or a sniper rifle grenade launcher, or any other insane shit, the anti-material rifle is kinda "oh, that's nice. Guess I'll hold on to it.".
But sometimes, you get unique rifles as a reward, and I scored a jackpot on this guy. its max range is 260 tiles. A good sniper rifle is typically 60-70 tiles for comparison. and its scope enhance is 400%.
I'm doing the archonexus ending, and I've had to give up my base 2 times. Aside from whatever your pawn is wearing, you can bring 5 pawns, 5 animals, and 7 special items. This sniper rifle has survived two moves because its that fucking good. I need to do the research to get AP-HE rounds for it, because blowing off someone's head from across the map is just a magical experience.

this is the third base I've built in this playthrough. Kind of a shitshow right now compared to my first one, but we're managing. This map tile is lovely. I can use tidal power generators, there's four easy to access geothermal vents, and only a few avenues of entry on the east and west sides of the map, so establishing killzones is quite easy. I wasn't sure if I would have to give up this base after getting the third part of the archonexus map, so I kinda didn't really care about long-term viability. But... the archonexus point showed up on the map, and I'm going to have to caravan to it.
