Looks like the cars to my (yellow) rear left and were replaced by an (oversized) SUV …who was nice enough to leave room for nearly two cars the size of mine to park.

Looking at the picture, if I draw a sight-line from where the grey SUV's driver's head would be and then to my bumper, it pretty much intersects with their hoodline. So, yeah, I guess their parking heuristic is "leave enough space ahead of me to see the bumper of the other car".
