It used to be worse because Alice is perfectly capable of reading a menu and she perseverates when she really wants something so orchestrating a change in direction is like steering a cruise ship.

Over time she's grown to understand that there are things that she shouldn't eat and that if she does she gets a nasty rash. Who knows what happens to her digestive tract. Too, we're also in a golden age of GF foods both in terms of shopping and restaurants, but you still need to be careful.
