Lord, I've lived this more than once.
And yeah, if the situation hit me repeatedly below the belt, I don't really need to hold onto the people who choose to play the middle.
Even if the ex is more exciting.
It just turns into apologetics about all the ways I got hurt. And being told why I actually deserved it and reasons I should feel sorry for them.
if chasing the excitement is the preference, you do you. I'll take low key and real, thanks.
I'm happier there.
