My most extreme believe is that any person in a position of power is there not due their skills but due to luck alone
"skills", "intelligence", etc.. are constructs to defend the status quo, not to enable the more unfortunate people
I have no problem with acknowledging that I'm where I'm today because of luck, not because of my "skills" or "intelligence" or whatever else fake construct we create
Just because a person has power doesn't mean what they say has any weight or merit

@karolherbst@chaos.social I 100% agree that power does not equate merit, but merit can be a way to gain power, which would not be luck alone. So IMO, giving the benefit of the doubt is a better attitude than pure contempt... which I guess applies to most social situations 😅
