I just had an alarming experience. I was looking at an OTC medication at the pharmacy, and as I always do, I looked up the ingredients. The second active ingredient listed has been banned by the FDA for oral use since 1991. I am livid. How is it on the store shelf?!? You can't even get Ranitidine anymore for Reflux, and this unsafe product is right there for anyone to purchase?
I've contacted the corporate HQ, because this is dangerous. If anyone is harmed, they can prove that the company sold a product which contained a banned ingredient.
Anyway, read ingredients. At least glance at them. If you never heard of it, look it up. I have recently seen an increase in products with the fat-mimicking ingredient EPG. Is it safe? It is officially GRAS (generally recognized as safe) but you may want to know if it's in your low cal high protein bar or that lighter version of ice cream.
Maybe we just need to go back to foods in their natural state, and get our medicines from the local witch.
