I have loads of "bags for life" and some of them I have had for years, maybe even over a decade. My friend Chips stayed with us a few weeks back and asked to borrow one (to transport his lunch in whilst he was at an event). At the end of the day I picked him up and we called in at Waitrose to buy more goods. Me: "Where is the bag for life I gave you this morning?" Chips: "Oh, I threw it away". This is more extraordinary given that Chips is even more conscientious about waste/recycling than I am.
